Make It Happen with Maybelline Workshop

4:29:00 AM

Maybelline launched their new tagline "Make It Happen" at Mid Valley Megamall throughout the week of 5th April to 10th April.  Last Saturday got some makeup tips and techniques from Steven Sunny a celebrity image consultant/makeup artist at the Makeup Workshop.

Makeup is slowly becoming part of my not daily but here and there routine.  I’m still trying to figure out a lot about makeup.  For instance, picking the right shade of foundation and powder. Recently learnt a thing or two about skin undertones.  Undertones are the underline pigment of your skin; you either have warm, cool or neutral undertones. Anyway, that's a conversation for another day but it does help to get the right shades for your makeup.  I will leave a link to a test you can take to find out what your undertone is at the end.  Continuing with my makeup discoveries; I'm in the process of learning eye shadow blending. Simpy slapping on only one color eye shadow all over your eyelid ain't on point.  And there is liquid eyeliner (it can be messy) then to the big stuff like contouring, highlighting and even bigger the EYEBROW filling. Yes, that is big stuff to me cause it can look wrong in so many ways when you think you have mastered it.

Moving on to what l got from the workshop; makeup is like a form of art and it’s important to master it and do it well.  However, that does not mean you  have to be a pro or if you aren’t a pro you cannot possibly achieve good results. The makeup artist Steven Sunny mentioned that, "Makeup should be effortless and natural and it's important to use good products." So ladies, if the desire is there to wear makeup even the smallest thing like eyeliner, take time to learn and perfect your makeup application process. Keep yourself updated with better ways, tools & products of wearing your makeup. As the tagline says "Make it Happen"

Last thing, according to Steven Sunny, if you aren’t wearing full on makeup he says, "Mascara and lipstick are a must."  Mine are definitely lipstick and eyeliner.

What are your daily or frequent makeup essentials?

Considering that Maybelline has quite affordable products I decided to try out their liquid eyeliner and matte lipstick
Very subtle look with just the Hypermatte liquid liner and Rosy Matte lipstick I got. Probably my first attempt at  a winged eyeliner is not visible enough :)

  1. Mascara is also one of my staples. Lately i've become more of a lip gloss rather than lipstick girl.
